Chelf Life is intended for people 18 and older. This policy explains what information the app processes, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we process

How we use information

We use information to provide account access, sync your pantry and meal-planning data, scan pantry photos, generate recipe suggestions, manage subscription access, protect the service, show non-personalized ads to eligible Free accounts when enabled, manage ad privacy choices, verify optional rewarded ads, and respond to support requests. Premium accounts do not receive ads or rewarded-ad prompts.

Service providers

We share information only as needed to provide the app and its features:

These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Storage and retention

App data is stored in the Chelf Life database while your account is active. Pantry photos are processed for the scan request and are not saved to that database. To reduce repeated AI processing, recipe results may be kept in a shared cache for up to 24 hours; the cache is not linked to your account. Service providers may retain information under their own policies or when required by law.

Reward-session and verification records are retained for up to 90 days for credit administration and abuse prevention, then deleted. Deleting your account removes associated Chelf Life records. Google and other providers may retain information under their own retention policies.

Advertising, consent, and tracking

When ads are enabled, Chelf Life requests non-personalized ads. Non-personalized ads can still involve processing device, network, ad, or diagnostic information described above. Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) displays applicable consent and privacy messages based on your region and settings. Where available, you can revisit your choices using Ad privacy choices in the app.

You can choose not to watch a rewarded ad. Rewarded ads are optional; a reward is added only after Google’s signed verification is accepted. Declining ads does not remove access to Chelf Life’s core pantry, recipe, shopping, or meal-planning features, though optional ad rewards will not be available.

Whether a particular data use is considered “tracking” under Apple’s rules depends on the data and configuration. If Chelf Life uses data for tracking that requires Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission, we will request that permission before tracking. See Apple’s privacy and data-use guidance.

Your choices and account deletion

You can review and change information in the app and use any consent, privacy, or opt-out choices shown for your region. To permanently delete your account and associated Chelf Life data, use Household → Account → Delete account and data, then confirm the deletion twice. You can also read the account-deletion instructions. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription; cancel it separately in your store account.

Children

Chelf Life is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us so we can review the request.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the app when appropriate.
